Trust Secretary, Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
Formally established in 2021, the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust (NCA) is one of the largest and most respected NHS providers in England, employing approximately 20,000 staff and serving a diverse population of around one million people across the North part of Greater Manchester. We work closely in each of our localities across Salford, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham to ensure that we are delivering care to our communities in an integrated way.
The NCA is strongly placed to support the development of integrated care across the wider conurbation, through a partnership model with other health and social care providers. At its heart is a real focus on place and we work with our system partners to develop outstanding standards of care for our local population. We want to build on this strong foundation ensuring the clinical voice is heard in our decision making, with the patient at the heart of everything we do. Due to the retirement of our current Chair we are seeking to appoint a new Chair to take us on to the next stage of development.
Creating the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust
The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust brings together staff and services from Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (PAT). The NCA NHS Foundation Trust was formally established on 1 October 2021 and has been working together as a group since 2016.
Who are we?
Our dedicated team of around 20,000 staff – our NCA Family – delivers healthcare excellence to over one million people across Salford, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury, as well as providing more specialist services to patients from Greater Manchester and beyond.
Patients and service users may receive a range of integrated health and social care services at their home or in their community or be treated and cared for in one of our four hospitals – Salford Royal Hospital, The Royal Oldham Hospital, Rochdale Infirmary or Fairfield General Hospital in Bury.
Our aim is to deliver consistently high standards of care to them all.
Patients may be visiting one of our four hospitals or receiving a range of integrated health and social care services at their home or in the community.
The NCA team works to save lives and improve lives. By joining forces with the partner organisations who share our values, we’re committed to enhancing the health of our local communities.
